There is a musty smell when I turn the AC on.
Usually the evaporator drain, the cabin filter, or both. Water should discharge under the vehicle; when the drain blocks, the housing stays wet. We check the drain and the filter together rather than replacing the filter alone.
My passenger footwell is damp.
That is the classic blocked-drain symptom. The drain is a numbered point on the A/C sheet for that reason.
