Why February, not May
An A/C that felt acceptable in January will not cope with a 38°C afternoon in May. The system loses a little refrigerant every year through seals and joints, and the loss is invisible until ambient temperature rises far enough to expose it. By then every workshop in Chennai has a queue, and the same repair takes a week to schedule instead of a day.
Checking early also catches the cheap faults while they are still cheap. A leaking O-ring found in February is a small job. The same leak ignored until the compressor runs low on oil and seizes is a four-figure to five-figure bill.
