Why is the Creta rear AC weak when the front is fine?
Most Creta variants feed the rear passengers through under-seat rear vents rather than a separate rear evaporator. So weak rear cooling is usually about airflow reaching the back — a choked cabin filter, blocked rear ducts, or a blend/mode setting — rather than a second AC unit failing. 1. Clogged cabin (AC) filter (most common)
A dust-choked cabin filter is the number-one cause of weak Creta airflow, and the rear vents — being last in line — feel it first. In Chennai's dust the filter clogs faster than the service schedule assumes. It's the cheapest thing to check and often the whole fix.
2. Blocked or closed rear vents / ducts
The under-seat rear duct can be blocked by mats, luggage or debris, or the rear vents left closed. Airflow to the back is restored once the path is cleared — no parts needed.
3. Low refrigerant or a slow leak
